2.I believe that star "men" are actually shattered fractions of actual stars.With all the heat and energy of a star, these hold the ability to create an incredible force when touched.
3.This power can either make a man "invincible" or when eaten by a baby Yoshi, can even generate the energy to make it instantaneously grow to full size.
4.They lose their energy after a short time solely because of their size.Even for a star, something that small can only contain so much energy.

The star peices found in Paper Mario are important to Merlow for a reason.Kammy Koopa is Kamek's daughter, and when her father tested her to see if she could take his place, the final test was to see if her magic could destroy a starman( a difficult task).She passed with flying colors as she literally shattered it into 160 star peices, wich Merlow knew he could collect, and thus put them together to create a starman.This would cause his father to honor him in the family as repairing a starman is difficult and is widely recognized in the Magic family.
