Description: Rather short and pudgy. Large, pathetic eyes, bulbous nose, small chin. Dress is casual and blue collar: common red cloth cap bearing a patch with an 'M' on it. Red shirt, blue demin overalls. Commonly seen wearing white plumber's gloves and boots. Build is sturdy, despite height and weight. Most distinguishing feature is his large, bushy, flourishing mustache.
Mario is basically seen as outgoing and good-natured. Though his personality seems to be often vague, as if to reinforce his role as representative of the player, a few certainties can be gleamed about him. He is univerally depicted as optimistic, energetic, gregarious, humble, well-mannered, fun loving, and adventurous. A simple man who hasn't got a scheming or cynical bone in his body, he loves the Mushroom Kingdom, and, even in the worst of times, sees adventures as an opportunity to have fun and explore, though when not adventuring, he has also at times been depicted as clumsy and lazy.
