Race:Dinosaur, probably of the amphibian persuasion, due to physiology.
Hobbies: Racing, Tennis, Golf, Baking cookies, sleeping
Favorite Foods: Cookies, berries, certain types of creatures
Likes: Eating, sleeping
Dislikes: Anything inedible, ghosts
Modus Operandi: Slurping up his foes, and occasionally using them as weapons. He can also derive certain magical abilities from eating certain types of shells. His ancestors have also been known to turn what they eat into (sometimes explosive) eggs. Whether The Yoshi and his contemporaries possess this ability is as yet unknown.
Home: Yoshi's Island
Weaknesses: Would appear to be indestructible, though easily spooked and captured.
Appearance: Typical of his species... large, round head, bulbous eyes, long body with a white belly, springy legs, tiny front arms, short tail, and a saddle-like shell, and a natural foot covering. Green.
Intersesting Notes: Yoshi’s preferred method of dealing with his problems is eating... his problems! Yoshi does this by means of slurping them up with a long, then, frog-like tongue, and apparently never gets full. The object on his back would appear to be a saddle, though it’s presence on them at birth (as well as their ‘shoes’) would seem to indicate a type of shell, though for all practical purposes it functions as a saddle. Yoshis are very resilient. It would appear that even in the egg phase, at the approach of something larger, they can hatch prematurely, often with a voracious appetite which provides them with the means to grow to normal baby size (which does not appear to be much smaller than an adult) almost instantaneously after a few consistent meals.
Notes on Species in General: Yoshis seem to look the same, though babies are much smaller. Yoshis come in multiple colors, including green, blue, yellow, red, light blue, brown, purple, black, and white. They are hatched from eggs, and are very intelligent.
Personality:The Yoshi which knows Mario the best seems to be easy going, though easily ticked off, particularly when hit in the back of the head, and despite his apparent indestructibility, is easily spooked by violent collisions with fierce creatures and hesitant to tread into any territory inhabited by ghosts. Sadly, it would appear that Yoshi’s excitability leads him to be somewhat inept and paralyzed when alone in stressful situations. Nonetheless, Yoshi is brave and persistent. He sets out from home to rescue his family in Super Mario World, and travels the glove on foot in Mario is Missing. In general, Yoshi’s are relaxed and gentle, happy-go-lucky helpful creatures with big hearts.
